Every culture has its own uniqueness.
In Batangas we have LOMI, (a Filipino dish made with a variety of thick fresh egg noodles of about a quarter of an inch in diameter, soaked in lye water to give it more texture. Because of its popularity at least in the eastern part of Batangas, there are as many styles of cooking lomi as there are eateries, panciterias or restaurants offering the dish. Variations in recipes and quality are therefore very common. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomi), known in any part of the country but the best of the bests is here in our province. That is the reason why my college friends and I start hunting for some of the best lomi here in Batangas.First stop is at Brgy. Bagong Pook, Lipa City, Batangas. An unforgettable Lomi House with Lusog Busog toppings of Chicken Lollipops, Chicken Fillet strips, Lumpiang Shanghai, Chicharon (Deep Fried Pork Skin), Atay (Pork Liver) and Boiled Eggs. I tasted this lomi for the first time and at that one sip of its noodles and soup I can tell you its superb. The saltiness is just right no need for an extra rice because the noodles will satisfy your tummy. Add a little soy sauce with calamansi and chili for an extra kick. I'm pretty sure mapapa-tulo ang kayat mo dine!
